Deep Roots, along with our generous sponsors, volunteers, and partners hosted another successful Plan It Native Conference in September with a week packed full of events surrounding native plantings on both small and large scales! We networked with our friends and colleagues, and made new connections, during the opening night kick-off and exhibit hall at Boulevard Brewing Company.
We followed that up with five outstanding field trips in the Kansas City and St. Louis areas. And the cherry on top included our three amazing keynote speakers, and 19 concurrent sessions, covering topics from soil health to native garden rooftops and everything in between (literally). We were thrilled to offer a true beginner’s track this year, which we will be rolling out as a monthly webinar series starting in October. A fabulous crop of new native plant gardeners joined us for our beginner’s roundtable. If you know someone new to native flora and fauna, please invite them to our monthly lunch & learn series.
By the numbers, we reached more than 250 professionals, heard from 32 experts in their field, celebrated attendees from 20 states, the District of Columbia and Canada, hosted more than 60 participants at field trips. The whole week was amazing! If you attended the conference and are interested in watching any sessions you might have missed, the recordings are available now and will continue to be available until 09/23! Go to Agenda and hit the recordings button in the session you would like to see. Be sure to take advantage of any resources the speakers made available for their sessions. We can’t thank you enough for making this conference an unequivocally important part of our job here at Deep Roots and we can’t wait for the next one!
