Green Infrastructure Tour at Black Hoof Park

August 12 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am CDT

Join Deep Roots KC and the City of Lenexa for a guided Green Infrastructure tour of Black Hoof Park on Wednesday, August 12, at 10:00 a.m. This free tour will highlight how native plants and stormwater management practices work together to improve water quality, reduce runoff, prevent erosion, and create healthier habitats for wildlife. We’ll walk the paved trail on the north side of the lake to the east, stopping at the dam to learn about the park’s design and the important role native landscaping plays in protecting local waterways. Whether you’re a homeowner, gardener, landscape professional, or simply interested in sustainable parks and green infrastructure, you’ll gain practical insights and see these concepts in action. The walk is on a paved trail and will move at a relaxed pace, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and enjoy the scenery. We hope you’ll join us for this engaging morning outdoors!
