The City of Kansas City, Missouri encourages sustainability through a new native plant program in partnership with Deep Roots KC and the Missouri Department of Conservation. Plan for success and learn the benefits of native gardening! Enjoy presentations to support native gardens across the metro and promote the development of new ones. Regardless of location or footprint, you can support a healthy environment at home with native plants.Each presentation covers:
- Benefits of native gardens
- Examples of managed vs. unmanaged natural landscapes
- How to navigate the updated landscape ordinance
- “Cues for Care” and seasonal maintenance guidance
- Native, non-native, and invasive species identification
- Additional resources for a thriving native garden!
